My name is Roberta (Bobby) Easton.I am a professional glass artist.Glass blowing has been my passion for the past 15 years, in which time I have studied, developed and expanded my experience and skill level, in this exciting, challenging art form.
Five years ago I opened my own retail outlet to sell my glassware from and to promote other likeminded craftspeople, in the lovely coastal of Flinders. Two years later, I relocated my growing business to my current gallery in Sorrento. All of the artists at Beast Creations are hand selected by myself in line with our philosophy to provide individual, unique, objects of heirloom quality for our discerning customers.

PHILOSOPHY
The ever – changing tapestry of nature’s colours, textures & juxtaposed spaces is a source of constant inspiration.
Although nature is sometimes depicted in a recognizable fashion is often preferable for me to use as a beginning for a picture.
Colour & textures, for instance, can be the most exciting aspects of a place. The actual appearance in photographic terms could hold little excitement.
It is the interaction of design elements and atmosphere, which holds a fascination.
Pieces can float or unite. Some belong together, some do not, like a jostling crowd working out there preferences.
In the relinquishing of learned controls & responses, we avail ourselves to levels of communication of deeper order & increase our awareness of life’s co-existences.

Lauren Harris - Jewellery
Born in Australia, 8th November 1974.
I’ve always had a bit of a wild imagination. Daydreamer was a term frequently used by teachers on my school reports. At school, I preferred the artistic classes where I achieved my highest grades. Working with my hands has always been the best way for me to express my imagination.
From a young age I have been a collector of all sorts of weird and wonderful objects that interest and inspire me. Antique bottles, rocks, minerals, fossils, shells and even bones are things that still exist in my collection.
I left school and started my jewellery apprenticeship at 17 and over those years I was fortunate to have been trained by two very talented jewellers, one having been the president of the Australian Jewellers Guild at the time, the other a member of the JAA, the Jewellers Association of Australia. They taught me the skills of making fine jewellery by hand using age old techniques combined with traditional and modern tools and equipment. I greatly appreciate the skills and techniques I have learnt and from these individuals and other talented artists I have met along the way. They have enabled me to create strong durable jewellery that is also different, practical and very comfortable to wear.
In 2001 I went out on my own to fulfil my dream of running a jewellery business of my own, working odd jobs here and there to support my new profession. My own style continues to evolve as I explore and study ancient and modern techniques.
I like to think of my work eventually becoming antiques and family heirlooms. I’m confident that with a little care, my jewellery will stand the test of time.
Having lived by the sea for most of my life, the ocean is definitely one of my biggest inspirations which come through in the designs, colours and materials I use in my work. I now live in a beautiful area surrounded by protected national park and just five minutes walk to the ocean beach on the Mornington Peninsula. I can’t help but be greatly inspired by my surroundings.
Although I use all sorts of colours, materials and gemstones, my favourites are precious metals, gems in the colours of the sea, local abalone shell, New Zealand paua shell, and especially New Zealand’s exquisite Blue Pearl.
I consider myself an artist as much as I do a jeweller and I hope people get as much enjoyment out of my jewellery as I do in its creation.
